I was one of the eleven artists that worked on the animated game advert for the Blue Zoo Studio and Next Gen Bootcamp. We worked remotely for four weeks to create a 3D animation using Blender.

The brief was to create a 30 second advert for a time-based co-op couch game. In the game, you control a robot worker that must repair parts of a broken robot. The advert features two of the robot characters working together to fix a robot that arrives in their “space garage” before a timer runs out.

During this production I was responsible for:
1. Prop design, 3D modeling and shading of a space truck.
2. Layout and animation of shots 110 and 120.
3. Lighting of shots 10, 20 and 150

1. Prop design, 3D modeling and shading of a space truck

This was a very special assignment for me as I love 3D modeling.
This is the 360 turntable video that also shows the wireframe and texture painting views of the model:

2. LAYOUT and ANIMATION

Once the modeling stage was over, we moved into the layout stage. I was assigned to do the layout of two shots for which ones I also did the animation.

3. LIGHTING of shots 10, 20 and 150

I loved to prepare the lighting of the following shots, I was able to bring on board skills from my current role as a photographic technician to work on colour and lighting, but this time, in a 3D environment!
